Argentinosaurus means “Argentina lizard.”  The meaning of Argentinosaurus is not hard to figure out.  “Argentina lizard” refers to the place where this giant was found.  It was found in Neuquen Province, Argentina.  Scientists estimate that the animal was around 72-85 feet long.  Very few bones of Argentinosaurus have been found.  The dinosaur was named in 1993 by Rodolpho Coria and Jose F. Bonaparte.
